Basic Royal Icing Sprinkles
1. Whisk together powdered sugar and meringue powder, then add in water 2 T at a time, mixing after each addition.
2. Continue adding water until desired consistency is reached.
3. Colour icing as needed.
Regular sprinkles: Yellow, orange, hot pink, turquoise, lilac, and lime green.
Milk and Cookies: A bit of cocoa powder and yellow food colour for cookies.
Emojis: Yellow, black, and blue (if not using heart sprinkles for eyes, also colour some icing red).
Pipe out and decorate sprinkles, then let set for at least 8 hours or overnight.
Optional: for fondant sprinkles to mix into funfetti sprinkles, simply roll out fondant into a thin sheet, cut out shapes using mini cookie cutters (or a straw for circle sprinkles), then let harden at room temp overnight.
